Clinical Massage — Wilmington, NC

Dr. Patton Gibbs’ focus on clinical massage for the past 10 years has given her exceptional experience in treating persons with acute and repetitive strain injuries, athletes, pre- and post-surgery patients, and those with chronic illnesses. She understands the importance of releasing muscular tension, as it relates to postural stress and structural (skeletal) imbalance, and chooses to address this area first. Because of her training in many soft tissue modalities (e.g., deep tissue, trigger point, neuromuscular, sports massage), Dr. Patton Gibbs does not limit herself by adhering to one single approach. She believes tissue has a language. It has the ability to communicate the body’s needs through its reaction to different soft tissue techniques and these needs change at varying levels of healing. Massage has developed her palpation skills and aids her in detecting structural dysfunction.
